A Mansfield name for half a century
If you grew up in Mansfield, there's a good chance Harley Blinds dressed a window you know: your nan's front room, the office where you had your first job, the pub on the corner. This is the story of the name, and why it's back.
Where it began
Harley Blinds was established in Mansfield in 1973 as a family business with a simple promise: a wide choice of good-quality blinds, measured and fitted for you, so you could concentrate on choosing and leave the rest to the experts.
By the late 2000s, Harley had a showroom at 38 Leeming Street in the heart of Mansfield, plus branches on Ryton Street in Worksop and Low Pavement in Chesterfield. Alongside home blinds, the business made contract blinds for offices, canopies and awnings for shops and cafés, and, when the smoking ban arrived in 2007, outdoor shelters for pubs and clubs across the area.
Made on Old Mill Lane
Harley later moved to a factory and showroom on the Old Mill Lane Industrial Estate in Mansfield Woodhouse, where the team manufactured their own vertical blinds and supplied schools and academies across North Nottinghamshire with child-safe blinds. Free measuring and free fitting were always part of the deal. That hasn't changed.
Harley Blinds today
When the original business stepped back, Mansfield's own Vesta Blinds took on the Harley Blinds name and its customers. Vesta is a local, family-run blinds and shutters company with a background in carpentry and a 5.0-star rating from more than 500 Google reviews.
